Every week millions of consumers read their local newspaper and skim right past the coupons. Maybe they think they don’t have time, or perhaps they think that coupons are beneath them. One this is for sure, people who are not using coupons are missing out big time! Did you know coupons have been around since 1894! Asa Candler invented the first coupon. Ava was the druggist who purchased the Coca-Cola formula for a mere $2,300. He passed out handwritten coupons for a FREE glass of his new fountain soda.
Today, coupons are still the same, yet different. As we mentioned, coupons are still distributed in the newspaper each week. In the most recent years the number of households that own a household computer and a printer have soared. Companies used this as a new way to get their coupons to the masses. With online printable coupons, companies simply provide their coupons online and don’t have to worry about the expense of ad space, printing, etc. Companies can now pass their savings on to the consumer in the form of money saving coupons!
In recent times, we all are starting to feel the economic downturn, some worse than others. More and more people are searching for, and using, printable coupons. Before I go shopping just about anywhere, I do a quick internet search to see if there are any coupons available where I plan to shop. 9 times out of 10 I am able to find some form of savings online. I like to tell me friends that I never pay full price, and I rarely do. Why pay full price when you don’t have to. It really only takes a very minimal effort to save big with coupons.
